Adoptable Dogs

Van Zandt County Humane Society is a "No Kill" Shelter

Our medical procedures begin with heartworm testing for all canines over 10 months and leukemia testing for felines. All pets in our care are up to date on vaccinations and, if over 4 months old, have been spayed or neutered and given their rabies vaccinations, as well as heartworm prevention. A free spay/neuter certificate is offered at one of our participating clinics for all unaltered pets adopted.

State law requires any animal adopted from a shelter or rescue group be altered. If not altered at the time of adoption, a female will need to be spayed when she reaches 6 months and a male when he reaches 8 months. The Society recommends that all animals be altered at 4 months.

 Jamie is a Terrier/Lab Mix. Born 02/14/15

Jamie is a sweet, affectionate little girl who will win your heart with her joy of life and eagerness to please you.  She is people friendly, gets along with other dogs but is not cat friendly.  She loves toys.  She has a box in her yard and puts all her toys in it every day!  And anything else she finds and wants to claim as a toy.  So cute!  Jamie isn't a chewer but may steal your socks if left out or explore the waste-paper baskets.

Jamie is housetrained, leash trained and crate trained.  Goes into her crate on command.  Obeys her recall unless chasing a squirrel then goes deaf!  Highly intelligent, she is easy to train.  Typical of Terriers she is high-energy and loves to run.  A large fenced yard or acreage is a must!

Such a fun loving girl, Jamie would make a great family pet and companion!

Jamie has been spayed, micro-chipped and is on heart worm preventative. She is up to date on her vaccinations.
